Review#6: Kebaya Akad *Barli Asmara*

Okay, this is my biggest personal splurge on the wedding! Making kebaya Akad was one of the scariest part. I was so afraid something would go wrong.

The designer/tailor made a wrong cut.. did an awful payet job.. was totally late..or I changed my mind too many times to actually make up my mind on the design.

Finally, I gathered up my courage and called one of the nicest designers on my days as Fashion Editor. The awesomely cute and nice Barli Asmara. He was kind enough to give me an indecent price, but great service to boot!!

It took 2 consultation until I finally make up my mind on the design. 3-4 fittings, the final one was supervised by Kakak Barli himself. And the end result? Absolute amazement!!I love the detail, the fit is just great and the bustier is even better!!

You might wonder though, why I made a designer kebaya for Akad Nikah instead of the grander event..aka Resepsi. Honestly I want to stand out among the guest, face it.. you’d have to wear an extravagant kebaya modern on that occassion.  With the long train, heavy beading and so on and so forth. You’d spend millions on something you’d wear once.. Going to a friends reception wearing a kebaya with train is just tacky right?

The tradisional dodot is a no go.. I’d get masuk angin on the first 20 minutes for sure. So the classic kebaya beludru is a definite winner..
